Recently, I shared with you my love of travel and some photos and memories from one of my favorite countries.. you can see it {here} if you missed it! So today I decided to feature yet  another one of the places that I absolutely loved. Barcelona! I visited Spain for the first time last summer with the bestie. We visited a few cities and my favorite was definitely Barcelona. I just loved the laidback beachy vibe of the whole city and its people. I have to admit, it was a bit tough not knowing much Spanish, especially when it came time to read a menu and order dinner, but all in all it was a beautiful city {with some amazing architecture and super cool people}.
Some favorite bits and pieces from the trip..

Chocolate con churros. As you can see in the photo above, churros with a side of rich hot chocolate to dip them in. These were heavenly as a late-night snack, and the cafes were full of both tourists AND locals. We may or may not have picked this over bar hopping one night..

Park Guell. I'm pretty sure this is unquestionably the most famous sight in Barcelona, and it's easy to see why. Not only is the park itself beautiful and just full of Gaudi's amazing work, so is the view of the city that you get once you're up there

Las Ramblas. I loved this promenade full of little shops, restaurants, and street performers. This is where we spent a lot of our time {though admittedly pretty touristy of us}, whether it was doing some shopping or having lunch or going for a drink {mmm authentic sangria}

Hole-in-the-wall bars. As a direct contrast to all the touristy things we did, we also were lucky enough to meet some nice locals who showed us spots that were populated with other locals, rather than tourists. I generally love getting the chance to do as the locals do wherever I am -- I just see it as the perfect way to really experience and feel the city. We ended up at a quirky little bar that we otherwise never would have come across, and it turned out to be extra memorable {and a fun story to tell}

And these are just a handful of the sights, tastes, and experiences of Barcelona.. I only wish I had gotten to stay even longer to see more of what the city had to offer.

Now I'm curious, do I have any readers from Spain? Or has anyone been to Barcelona?
I'd love some stories!
